Learning to Lay It Down

Lord, I lay it all down at your feet.
To no longer carry burdens not my own.
Lord, I lay it down.
I lay it down.
I sacrifice my pride.
I lay it all aside.
To know you more
and take comfort in your grace.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
(Proverbs 11:2)

Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
(Proverbs 13:10)

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses
but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
(Hebrews 4:14-16)

Random Shower Talk

Is feeling like you have to wash and style your hair before you go to the hairdresser's as irrational as feeling like you have to clean your house before the cleaning lady comes?

Not that I have a cleaning lady.  But if I did, I am sure I would (clean, that is.)

That's my random-standing-in-the-shower-thought for the day.

Enjoy.  And be blessed.

A Pause At the Door

I turn the handle and crack open the door to enter.

I stop.  I wait.  I pause at the door.

I brace myself - waiting for what should be the inevitable but it doesn't come.

I breathe out and remember.

He is gone.

The silence lurks.

And I go in.

Running Out Of Thankfulness

I started off my '30 Days of Thankfulness' with a bang and did so well until the last 4 days.  Then nothing....(hear crickets chirping).

Now just so you don't get the wrong idea and think I ran out of things to be thankful for, I will explain.  The last four days of November were FULL!!  Full of family, friends, shopping, several small home projects, church, decorating, some cleaning so we could do some more decorating, Monopoly, Monopoly, Monopoly, more shopping, a little work and ...(deep breath)... a little more shopping.  Whew! (Wipe sweat off brow now.)
