Ahhh...Winter!

Winter is here.

*Boos and hisses*

We've endured a week of sub-zero temps, 20-40 mph winds and more snow.  Yeah!

NOT!

Needless to say, I do not go out unless I have to and as soon as I get home I put on these:

How Not to Spend Your Winter

When you live in the upper mid-west, you learn to put up with a few things; snow, cold, wind, short days, bugs and road work.  In fact, it has been said that in North Dakota, our state bird is the mosquito and we only have two seasons; road construction and winter.

Now that's not a very nice thing to say.

Crankiness Is Not A Gift to Be Shared

I. hate. being. cranky.

I hate it even more when I KNOW that I am being cranky but just can't get out of the 'cranky zone'.

You know... those days when nothing goes right,
when everyone is. just. an-noy-ing., when it's raining on your parade,
when the dog just ate your homework (or your shopping list, or that report for work, or that birthday card you finally remembered to buy).
That day when you are COMPLETELY out of chocolate!!! - and your whole disposition
can be summed up by this:

Oh yeah...that girl knows what I'm talking about.

Under His Wing

Thank you, Lord, for being my shelter and my strength.  Thank you that you have chosen me and not rejected me.  Thank you, that when I cling to you, your right hand upholds me and I can approach you with confidence -  knowing that you have covered me with your mercy and grace, not only in my time of need, but always.  You are worthy of my praise and my trust.  My soul clings to you and I will pour out my heart to you - for You are my Refuge.

God's Word was such an encouragement to me today!  Check it out: (Psalm 62:8, Psalm 63:8, Isaiah 41:9-10, Hebrews 4:16)

A Firm Grip...

"Don't panic. I am with you.

There is no need to fear, for I'm your God.

I'll give you strength.

I'll help you.

I'll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you."

—Isaiah 41:10

Today, be encouraged.  You are NOT alone.
