Fallin' for Fall: Forgotten Treasures

Well, since summer has decided to abandon us,
I figured I could either whine and complain or I could embrace the new season. As I was pondering this I vaguely remembered buying an item or two on clearance at the end of the last fall season.

After a little digging I came up with this:

Two wreaths, two boxes of assorted sized pumpkins,
two fall swags and several silk flower bunches (not pictured - oops)
and that really cool 'carved' pumpkin.

What you can't see in the picture is the pumpkins have just the lightest dusting of pixie dust on them.  Lo-ove it - So cute!

The small pumpkins were distributed around my house in a couple of bowls. I even strategically placed a candle in the middle of one of the bowls.  (OK, Martha Stewart I. Am. Not. -  but I try.)

I do love the colors of fall.
They are warm.  And homey.  And grab-a-cup-of-cocoa-and-a-good-book-and-snuggle-by-the-fire comforting.  The colors of fall have an odd calming effect on me.
Must be one of the reasons why dream vacation #5 is to travel to 'Vermont in the fall.'

But enough randering....my favorite part was this:

I put this outside my front door as a, well... 'welcome' to my friends
(boy, where did I come up with that, huh?!?)
I thought it was cute but the part that made me giggle was when a friend came over the next day
and had to touch the pumpkin to see if it was real.

Seriously? Remember, I am NOT Martha Stewart.  Like I could have carved THAT! Tee-hee.

Anywhoo...

Putting this stuff out perked me right up.
I could feel myself getting into the season and it felt good to invest some time and energy into blessing my home.

But the icing on the cake was remembering what I had paid for this stuff.
Almost nothing!
I had gotten it for 80% off at the end of last season.
Victory!  Woo-hoo!
I got all that stuff for what I could have paid for the 'carved' pumpkin alone at full price.

Made me fall in love with Fall even a little more.

(Hmmm...I wonder what I may have tucked away for Christmas.)

Your turn!
What do you or don't you like about the Fall season?
Does anybody else out find hidden treasures in their 'stash' from the year (or two) before?

I don't decorate much. I love fall though except for the cold. The beautiful changing colors are the best!
